Capelleta route. Route 4 Sant Jaume de Llierca

The Ruta de la Capelleta takes you to the remains of this small church (or chapel) that was once a popular place of worship for local people. Today, it is semi-derelict.

 Start walking at signpost G51 Sant Jaume de Llierca and head towards ‘La Capelleta, per La Resclosa, (1h 05min)’. Follow carrer Major, turn into carrer Àngela Brutau and continue as far as the signpost SJLL1 Zona Esportiva, where you should head for ‘La Capelleta (1h)’. Continue on the dirt track that runs through the riverside forest with the river Fluvià on your left. In 20 minutes you will reach the weir, La Resclosa. Follow the yellow Itinerànnia waymarking as far as signpost SJLL2 La Central Elèctrica; here, turn left, cross the river on a ford and continue on the dirt track that will take you to the hamlet of Coguleres.

After walking along this track for a while, turn off left following the yellow waymarking and start to climb up the path that heads for the small chapel of La Capelleta. At a small pass you will come to a sign pointing you left to La Capelleta, actually, it is semi-derelict .

Once you have visited the chapel, return, and continue straight on and follow the yellow waymarking down a footpath to signpost SJLL3 Torrent de la Miana. Here, head for ‘Sant Jaume de Llierca (25min)’. Follow the dirt track, cross the stream, Torrent de la Miana, and then, after a while, come to the small metalled road, you reach a minor road and the signpost G178 Ctra. La Miana . Keep left and head downhill. Cross the river Fluvià over the ford, follow the water channel and in less than five minutes you will be back in the village of Sant Jaume.
