It is believed that it receives this name because it is the road used by the engineers in charge of carrying out the construction study of a dam on the Freser River, which has never been built.
In summer the path does not present great difficulties except for the impression that the great heights that are felt at all times can cause.
The camí dels Enginyers begins in Núria, specifically at the Viacrucis cross, this path is the GR11.7, therefore we will find GR marks painted along the path, as well as the yellow marks of the Itinerànnia network.
We leave Núria along the Viacrucis road, cross the Font Negra stream and start climbing up to the Serrat de les Pedrisses, Itinerànnia junction R209. Now the road is flat, we go down a little and cross a stream and reach the cliffs of Malaterra. We continue towards the Clot de Malinfern, we find a step with some grapples that help to overcome a large rock. The path goes up and down and further on we also find a passage with a chain until we reach the Coll dels Homes, a great viewpoint, from where we descend until we reach the Coma de Vaca refuge. At this point we find the R109 intersection of Itinerànnia, we will take the direction to the right that indicates Queralbs. At this point we leave the GR markings and go there following only the yellows of Itinerànnia
After about 10 minutes of climbing, we find another crossing R110 Torrent del Bogader, where we will take the direction of Queralbs again. The whole way until almost reaching Queralbs will be downhill.
In the first section, the river is well below the path to the Font del Rubí where we cross the river and in the entire area of the Collet de la Paradella, we go parallel to the river. We find the gorges of Freser and a new crossing of the R111 Palanca de les Ribes, where we continue towards Queralbs. We pass by the beautiful Salt del Grill and continue down. At the height of the old power station and bridge of Daió, we find the Q5 junction, continue towards the Mina Ielles, R206 junction and the Farga junction Q8 and after a few meters we find the Q6 Greixers junction where we start a slight climb until reaching the center of the municipality of Queralbs, along the road.
