This circular route invites us to discover a stretch of the Empordà plain from the coast of l'Escala to the village of Cinc Claus.
The route starts at the l'Escala tourist information office, located in the square named Plaça de les Escoles. We go down towards the village centre along Carrer Enric Serra, passing by the church of Sant Pere and you vill eventually come the beach known as Platja de les Barques.
We will follow the route to the left next to the coast following the yellow and GR marks. Go up the steps of Pedró and you vill come to a view point. Continue alongside the coast, always following the yellow marks , along the street carrer del Mar d'en Manassa, where you will find some benches to sit on and admire the view. Then you come to platja de la Creu, where you must go up the steps and carry on next to the coast, following the Ronda del Pedró until you reach the fork on the right at teh Itinerànnia junction AE224 come to a side road that head towards Sant Martí Empúries. Continue along this track, next to the sand dunes until you come to the end of the first cove where you must retrace your steps and get back on to the track. Just before you get to the village, take the lane on the left towards the route, skirting the picnic area and car park. Before reaching the road we find a map and a vertical sign of Itinerànnia AE223..
Continue on towards Cinc Claus or l'Armentera along the sidewalk of the road. After about 10 minutes at the end of the sidewalk we find a new sign, we cross the road and take a footpath. The asphalt track passes through an orchard area.
