Remei walk. Route 33 Ripollès

An easy route that combines different types of paths, offering great views, walks along the water, and a lovely stroll around Ripoll and the Remei chapels.

We start at the Itinerànnia junction R184 Ripoll-Colònia Agafallops. In this first section, we do not follow Itinerànnia signs; instead, we go along Progrés Street to the roundabout and then cross to the other side, climbing Sant Amand Street to Montserrat Street. We continue along the path lined with hazelnut trees to reach the track where we begin to find yellow signs of Itinerànnia and also GR1.

We head to Coll del Remei and continue 250 meters further to the Remei Chapel.

The Remei Chapel in Ripoll was built by the owners of Mas Puiggrau in the 17th century. During the Spanish Civil War, the chapel was completely destroyed. In 1947, it was rebuilt and is popularly known as the Remei de Dalt (Upper Remei).

After visiting the chapel, we retrace our steps to Coll del Remei. We leave the signs again to descend the grassy track towards Sobirats and the fields of Can Pol, reaching the road to Les Llosses.

After crossing the road, we descend to the stream, where we recover the yellow signs of the Les Llosses Stream route and continue left along the path that runs parallel to the water, shaded by poplar trees, until Can Villaura. Here, we find junctions LL4 and R185 Can Villaura, passing by the remains of the Remei de Baix (Lower Remei) chapel.

We continue back to Ripoll along the bike lane, always following the yellow signs, until we reach the house of Sant Quintí. Then, we turn right to follow the yellow signs as well as those of GR151 and GR210, always staying next to the river, until Can Botei. We continue and finally arrive back at junction R184, where we started the route.
