This is an easy route that leaves from Carrer Cerdanya, the old “royal road,” passing by the remains of the Segura castle. The walk offers views of Batet, Ribes de Freser, the Taga hill and Sant Antoni. This is a path that connects the Roques Blanques neighbourhood with Ribes de Freser without passing along the road.

We set out from the R125 crossing over the rack railway line and head towards the collada de Segura pass. We pass by the R145 camí de Sant Antoni crossing, from which we could head for Roques Blanques, but on this occasion we will walk to the Segura hill, along the bucolic narrow c arrer Cerdanya, the old “royal road.” We reach the R122 Sant Cristòfol crossing, with its fountain and chapel, and take the path that leads to the Segura pass, the R120 crossing.
To go towards Roques Blanques, we turn left and reach the hostel after around 45 minutes (passing the RF16 Pont de Roques Blanques crossing).
At this point we have various options:
· To continue the second section of the route to Planoles;
· To return to Ribes de Freser by the same path;
· To return to Ribes de Freser via the Casassa pass, following the Ribes-Roques Blanques route, reaching Ribes in around an hour and forty minutes.
