Accessible with help or handbike.

Start at signpost G51 Sant Jaume de Llierca and head down the street to signpost G45. Turn left to pass in a few minutes underneath the A-26 dual carriageway.

Once on the other side, turn right and walk past an area of allotments to the river Llierca, where you should turn left.

Follow the metalled road and the yellow Itinerànnia waymarking. Cross a gully, El Torrent de Castellar, and then after a few metres begin to climb.

Pass in front of a large farmhouse, Mas Castellar, with the fields of El Pla de Castellar on the right. Continue along the road, up another climb that takes you past another farmhouse, Mas l’Aulina, and soon you will see the village of Montagut ahead.

Pass the cemetery on your right and then come to the first houses in the village. Pass through the village to reach signpost G49 Montagut, where you should turn left past the swimming pool and on to the bike lane that will take you to the houses of the residential area of La Cometa.

More or less halfway along the bike lane you will come to signpost MiO8 Carretera de Montagut; here, turn left to pick up a dirt track that will take you past some pig farms. Keep ahead until you reach a junction where you should turn left. Begin a short climb and pass by a small pine plantation, after which you should turn right. Head through pastures and fields until you come to another junction; here, turn right. Start to descend and cross the stream Torrent de Castellar on an old stone bridge. Continue straight on until you come to the old track that leads to these fields.

Continue straight on and pass by a house, Can Valent. After a few metres, you will come to Can Galceran — you are now in the fields of an agricultural plain, Pla de Tapioles. Continue straight on until you come to a metalled road, where you should turn left and go parallel the A-26 dual carriageway for a stretch until you reach the cemetery. Turn to cross the A-26 over a false tunnel.  Enter the village and continue down Carrer Major to signpost G51 marking the beginning of this route.
