Coves and coastal paths: De la Platja Gran de Portbou a la platja de Colera

The precipitous coastline towards the north of the Empordà region forces us to go through the Coll del Frare mountain pass, with it's impressive views of the sea and cliffs.

Start the hike in front of the beach on Rambla de Catalunya at the Itinerànnia AE122 trail junction and continue towards Colera.

Walk along Carrer Alcalde Miquel Cabré to the intersection of Carrer de la Muntanya and Carrer de la Barca. Take the footpath towards Coll del Frare. The path continues up the “Muntanya de Colera” and offers wonderful views.

Enter Colera by crossing Carrer de l'Església and Carrer de Laburn. Find the AE123 trail junction and following the markers towards Llançà, walk down Carrer del Mar to the Passeig Marítim (seafront promenade) and the AE248 Platja de Colera junction and the end of the route.
